Orange County in Southern California is one of the best locations to have a local or destination wedding, and we were so happy to be the selected Newport Beach wedding planner and Day of Coordinator for this intimate Electra Cruise Yacht wedding on the "Destiny" yacht.

With its wonderful views of Newport Harbor and the breathtaking sunset that set the mood for this 100 guest wedding, the Destiny was just the right size vessel for us to create a classic but romantic wedding atmosphere with our floral and event design and Day of Coordination services.

What we loved about the Destiny in comparison to other vessels, is the layout of the two levels (plus an open air deck), and the modern white lounge furniture that many other yachts don't include. The white furniture worked well in our aesthetic and was perfect for the social lounge cocktail hour element of the wedding. The clear Chiavari chairs really opened up the space for the ceremony and kept the focus on the wonderful views.

There are a few things we caution all brides about having a yacht wedding on an Electra cruise, or any other cruise company, in Newport Beach: The yacht company does not allow tall or water filled columns as part of your table scape decor, so your centerpieces will need to be low, small, or no taller than 6 inches.

Additionally, Electra Cruises, as many other yacht wedding charters, advertise an all inclusive wedding package that would include a planner and day of coordinator; however, like most venue coordinators, the coordinator is part of the vessel staff (usually the steward) responsible only for elements and details as it pertains to the service offerings and logistics of the cruise ship, they do not set up decor, create a wedding day timeline, provide by your side full level service, nor are they able to assist with any planning or coordination beyond the scope of details for the ship. We strongly encourage any bride seeking to have an Orange County yacht wedding to hire a separate wedding planner or at the least, your personal Day of Coordinator.
